The tobacco and paper industry uses our MLVent laser systems for offline perforation of cigarette tipping paper. The aim is to produce perforated tipping paper for cigarettes with reduced tar and nicotine levels. The laser perforation guarantees safe compliance with the relevant limit values in modern filter cigarettes.
Reduction of harmful substances: By diluting the smoke, the concentration of harmful substances such as tar and nicotine in the inhaled smoke is reduced.
Improved ventilation: Perforated cigarette paper mixes additional air into the smoke stream, diluting the smoke and making it milder.
